Cause of occurence of cough and cold has to be evaluated clinically ,especially in children.
Respiratory tract infections has to be ruled out.
Usually for cold-phenylephrine hydrochloride and chlorpheniramine maleate containing syrup is given for child.

is it ok to give my 11 month old baby piriton to help with a cold
Hi,dear.Piritone is having chlorpheniramine maleate which should not be given to babies below one year so you should not give this to your baby ispite of that you can give him CALCOUGH infant syrup for cold the dose is one teaspoon full 3 to 4 times a day.your baby will be fine very soon.if you have any query you can write to me.
thanx & regards
