Hello and welcome to HCM,
Genitalherpes needs to be treated by anti-viral therapy.
Acyclovir is the most common preparation used.
You need to consult your doctor for confirmation of genitalherpes and prescription of medication.

can genitalherpes spread and appear on or around the mouth area?
Welcome to HCM.
It is the other way round.
That is, genitalHerpes is caused by HSV 2 virus and it would unlikely to manifest in and around the mouth whereas Herpes labialis is caused by HSV 1 and it can cause lesions around genitals.
if u are exposed to genitalherpes.......how long before u may have symptoms?
It may take a period of a week or two for you to present with the lesions of symptoms.
