What causes elevated GAMMA GT?
I am a 46 year old female, standing at 1.57 cm and weighing 51 kg. Received my health screening report- my liver profile is normal except for an elevated GAMMA GT reading at 66. Is there any reasons that would caused the elevated reading? I have been advised to take another test in 3 months time....
How are high levels of gamma gt treated ?
I have a Gamma gt level of 100, possibly more, my doctor was a bit vague. I m 18 and have type 1 diabetes . On the day it was taken, I hadn t drank any alcohol for at least a month. She assumed that I had and has taken another sample just to be sure. Are there any other explanantions for my level...
My Gamma GT is 117. I do not drink. My last ALT/AST were ok. I have fibromyalgia and take alot of tylenol with codeine and naproxen. Could this be the cause?

Elevated GGT could indicate early atherosclerosis. Thus it indicate the increased cardiovascular risk. GGT is an independent predictor of fatal heart disease or stroke.Some other causes are pancreatic disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, renal failure, diabetes, obesity.
